Museum of George and Nefeli Giabra Pierides Collection
In 1999, Solon Triantafyllidis, chairman of the Bank of Cyprus Group, and his wife Cleo, donated to the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation the collection of Cypriot antiquities of Cleo's parents, Georgios and Nefelis Tziapras Pieridis. The collection, which includes more than 600 objects, covers the period from the Early Bronze Age (2500 BC) to the Medieval period (16th century). Particularly important is the Mycenaean pottery, which includes some unique examples of the Iconographic Rhythm of the 14th and 13th centuries BC. It also includes representative examples of ceramics from the Geometric, Archaic, Roman and Medieval periods, clay figurines, an important collection of stone sculptures and seals, jewelery and bronze objects.Exhibition Number: 01/01 Item: Jug Category: Pottery Dating: 2000-1900 B.C.
