The map depicting ‘Τhe March of the Ten Thousand’ was first published by Janssonius in his Accuratissima Orbis Antiqui Delineatio in 1652. This map is based on a prototype by Pierre du Val; this particular copy comes from a Latin edition of Janssonius’ Novus Atlas, published in 1662. The map depicts the march of the Greeks as described by Xenophon in Anabasis.
