LASOR a Varea (Alfonsus), i.e. SAVONAROLA (Rafaele).
Univerus Terrarum Orbis Scriptorum calamo delineatus. Padua, Giovani-Battista Conzatti, 1713
Natale Bonifacio (1550 − 1592) engraved artistically this map of Cyprus for the publisher Fellice Brunello, in Venice in the 1570's. The map was first published for loose sheet circulation but was later reprinted so as to be incorporated in various editions. The compass rose included here gives a northeastern direction to the island between the T (tramontana − north) and the L (levant − east). Faint lines mark the island's eleven medieval districts but the new Venetian Walls of Lefkosia (Nicosia) are clearly discerned.
