The author came to Cyprus as the official photographer and sketcher of the excavations of her husband Max Ohnefalsch-Richter. During her stay in Cyprus (1894-1912), she recorded and took photographs of the customs and traditions of the island, the pursuits of the inhabitants and the peculiarities of Cypriot folk art.
