Τεπάρισσος [Teparissos]

In his preface, Yiannis Kypri mentions that this publication is dedicated to Teparissos, the huge cypress that rises next to the monastery of Our Lady of Tohniou, near the author’s birthplace, the occupied village of Mandres in Famagousta. The first part of the publication includes twenty-three poems, three of which are metrical poems written in the Cypriot dialect. The second part entitled “Pain which cannot forget” is dedicated, same as the entire work, to the memory of Phoebos Karayiannis and Yiannis Adamou Karayianni, the uncle and cousin of the author, missing since 1974, whose remains were located in a mass grave in the occupied areas.
