«Κυπριακές» Επιστoλές τoυ Σεφέρη (1954–1962) [Seferis’ Cypriot Letters (1954 – 1962)]
Aπό την αλληλογραφία του με τον Γ. Π. Σαββίδη [From his Correspondence with G.P. Savidis]

The twenty-three letters G. Seferis wrote to G. P. Savidis (1929–1995) during the years marked by the struggle against British rule illuminate the historical and ideological framework within which the poet wrote his collection of poems entitled “... Κύπρov, oύ μ’ εθέσπισεv”. These letters contribute to a wider understanding of the poet’s commitment to the cause of Cypriot Hellenism. His close affinities with the Cyprus Question and his unconditional trust in the young philologist — to whom he assigned in 1955 the editing of his Cypriot collection — provided the ideal conditions for the development of a fertile dialogue about Cyprus. The letters cover the period during which Seferis’ experiences of Cyprus underwent a poetic transformation and close in 1961 with the publication of an honorary volume on his work.
