The Amalgamation Project consists of 4 musicians and 6 voices, set to appear on stage in the yard of the Cultural Foundation in order to lure us into a whimsical musical journey that wavers between Mediterranean and Balkan melodies through rich polyphonic tones.
In this year’s appearance in Faneromeni21 Art Festival, The Amalgamation Project will perform traditional and quasi-traditional songs, rearranged by Ermis Michael, as well as their own compositions.
The all-female choir will fuse with percussions, the violin and the contemporary sounds of electric guitar and bass to perform songs seen through the lens of the present, as Byzantine sounds, throat singing, and minority dialects combine with modern harmony and body percussion.
