"The Cyprus Economy, 1914-1939 based on evidence from the Bank of Cyprus Historical Archive"

The modern and contemporary Economic History of Cyprus has not been sufficiently looked into. The aim of this Workshop is to bring postgraduate students (in History and Economics) into contact with sources of economic and banking character, made available by the Bank of Cyprus Historical Archive. Students will use research to shed light on the history of the Cyprus economy.

The first part of the Workshop includes introductory presentations on economic history and on the content of the Bank of Cyprus Historical Archive.

In the second part of the Workshop, once separated into small groups, participants will be presented with copies of documents from different units of the BCHA. Working as a team, aided and guided by the organizers, students will be asked to comment on the material and make a five-minute group presentation. A total of forty (40) places are available. Participation is free of charge. Places will be allocated in order of arrival.

Participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
