This is the northeastern exterior of Belapais Abbey, as seen from the direction of the nearby village of Kazafani. The gothic abbey, surrounded by lush flora, is situated majestically amongst the high peaks of the Pentadaktylos, including Agios Ilarion. The only contemporary element in the picture is the two women with a young child walking past a beggar in the foreground
