The first Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors was † Andreas Patsalides. The Group’s Chief General Manager , Yiannis Kypri, is the current Chairman.

The other members of the Board of Directors are appointed by the Board of Directors of the Bank. As of 1984, the following have served as members of the Board: George Charalambous,† Andreas Christophides, Costis Colotas, Dr Maria Iacovou, Dr Vassos Karageorghis, Nikiforos Orphanos, Dr Theodoros Papadopoullos, Andreas Philippou, Christis Phylactou, Demetris Pierides, † Panayiotis Serghis, Sylvia Ioannou and Stella Souliotis.

In addition, since 1992 the Board of Directors may appoint honorary members living abroad. The members are involved in the Foundation’s activities outside Cyprus and constitute the Foundation’s liaisons with academic and cultural foundations abroad. To date, the following have been selected as honorary members: (UK), Dakis Ioannou (Greece),† Constantinos Leventis (UK), Professor Speros Vryonis (USA) and Professor Theophanis Stavrou (USA).

Since September 2008 the members of the Board of Directors are, in alphabetical order, the following: Athena Eliades, Dr George Georgis, Dr Maria Iacovou, Sylvia Ioannou, Andreas Jacovides, Maria Leventi – Klerides, Titina Loizidou, Dr Andreas Moleskis, Nikiforos Orphanos, Marina Shacola, Maria Tsakos. The Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors is Yiannis Kypri, the Chief General Manager of the Bank of Cyprus Group.
